If you're taking a drive through Queensland's Sunshine Coast, be sure to visit Wild Horse Mountain Scenic lookout located in Beerburrum State Forest for some of the most stunning 360-degree panoramic views over the ocean and Glass House Mountains.
How To Get To Wild Horse Mountain Scenic Lookout:
Wild Horse Mountain looking is located between Caloundra and Caboolture right off the M1 Bruce Highway. Look out for Exit 171, Johnston Road Turn off, it is right next to a McDonald's and service station area. It's a 6 minute and 1.4km drive from the highway exit.
Where to Get the Best instagram Photos: Wild Horse Mountain Road
From there follow the small road through the pines until you reach the car park. Be sure to stop for some stunning photos among the pines along Wild Horse Mountain Road before making you way up.
Hiking to the top of Wild Horse Mountain Scenic Lookout:
From the car park, it's a 700m one-way steep paved trail to the top. There is little shade along the track so be sure to take a hat and some water. The highest elevation is 123m, once you reach the top there is a fire tower lookout point which offers some shade.
From there, enjoy the 360-degree panoramic views over the coastal planes, forest and Glass House Mountains, Including Mount Coolum and Mount Corrora.
