Our brunch review of Tolido's Espresso Nook, Crawford Lane

This relaxed and casual cafe cafe serves up fresh food, with a wide ranging all-day brunch menu, main pasta dishes and desserts, full of both western dishes and local twists. The cafe has a cosy feel, and is a great spot for coffee lovers to enjoy the strong artisan coffee. We visited for a Saturday morning brunch, it seems the secret is out that this place is good, as upon arrival at 11.30am we were in for an hour long queue. A read of the menu, describing the cafe's love and passion for food, and a quick glimpse inside at the homely decor encouraged us to pursue the wait.

The Food at Tolido's Espresso Nook:

Our first choice was the Prawn Laksa Pasta ($17), one of the recommended options on the menu. It was certainly worth trying as it's a dish not found on many other brunch menus and has a taste of local flavours. We enjoyed the spicy and fragrant laksa gravy with plenty of prawns in the mix.

Our next choice was more of a classic, opting for the Bacon & Eggs. A hearty option which filled us up nicely. Our final pick was the Rosti, another of the chefs recommended dishes. This was our personal favourite. The potato was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, and not at all greasy. It was also served with a side of sour cream for dipping and two large sausages.
